  1. SHOWERS OR BATHS? “BATHS; BC I AM DISGUSTING & I LOVE SWEATING MORE THAN MOST THINGS.”

  2. WHAT WAS UR 1ST JOB? “MICHAEL'S ART & CRAFTS WHEN I WAS 16. LOL I WAS PRETTY EXCLUSIVELY A PAINTER BEFORE DG.”

  3. WHEN DO YOU GET NERVOUS? “I’M NERVOUS BEFORE EVERY SHOW. I’VE LEARNED TO TONE IT DOWN & STARTED TAKING MEDS WHICH HAVE HELPED A LOT. NOW I USUALLY ONLY HAVE PANIC ATTACKS WHEN I GET PHYSICALLY OVERHEATED/HEAT STROKE, BUT I’M ALSO PANICKED BY CLAUSTROPHOBIA/PLACES I CAN’T FREELY COME & GO.”

  4. WHY CAN’T IT BE MAGIC ALL THE TIME? “IF EVERYTHING IS MAGIC ALL THE TIME, WE WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO FEEL JOY. ANYWAY, MY LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME HARD WORK PAYS OFF… BUT DON’T LISTEN TO ME BC I’M A WORKAHOLIC.”

  5. WHAT ARE YOU READING RIGHT NOW? “I JUST FINISHED THE ORDER OF TIME BY CARLO ROVELLI & NOW I’M READING PERMANENT RECORD, EDWARD SNOWDEN’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY.

  6. WHERE DO YOU DANCE? “I DANCE WHEREVER I LIKE THE MUSIC; ALWAYS @ HELLTEKK SHOWS, WHEN NORM CORP PEOPLE COME TO TOWN. I’LL DANCE TO A MID SET AS WELL, BUT I DON’T CONSIDER IT DANCING UNLESS MY FEET REALLY START GETTING OFF THE GROUND. SORRY TECHNO.”

  7. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT LOVE? “UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THERE IS (FRIENDSHIP, FAMILY, BOTH, ETC). ROMANTIC LOVE FEELS A MORE CONDITIONAL LATELY- ALTHOUGH IT’S ALSO LIKE A RELIGION, BC YOU NEED FAITH TO BELIEVE THERE’S UNCONDITIONAL ROMANTIC LOVE OUT THERE FOR EVERYONE.”

  8. WHAT ARE YOUR BEAUTY SECRETS? HA. HA. SINCE BECOMING VEGAN MY SKIN HAS CLEARED UP BIG TIME. SWEATING KEEPS YOU HEALTHY, CLEANS THE SOUL & LOOKS GOOD ON EVERYONE. ALWAYS WEAR OUTFITS YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN WITHOUT NEEDING TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR, OTHERWISE YOU’LL FEEL WEIRD ALL DAY.

  9. WHERE DID YOU LEARN TO TATTOO? ART SCHOOL

ART BY ANGEL HOPE VERA

AS A TEENAGER, ANGEL RAN AWAY FROM HOME IN ITLAY AND LIVED ON THE STREETS OF BERLIN & PARIS BEFORE FINDING HER WAY TO LONDON IN THE LATE NINETIES.

THIS INTERVIEW W BEN NORTHOVER IS USED AS ANGEL WAS ATTACKED IN THE STREET THE MORNING OF.

ON THE MORNING OF THIS INTERVIEW WAS FIRST SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE, I RECEIVED A CALL TELLING ME THAT ANGEL HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. WHILE WALKING IN THE WESTBOURNE GROVE AREA OF LONDON, SHE’D BEEN FOLLOWED & VIOLENTLY BEATEN IN WHAT WAS CLEARLY A TRANSPHOBIC ATTACK. THOUGH THE PLOICE HAD IDENTIFIED HER ASSAILANT, THEY WERE HESITANT TO PRESS CHARGES.

BN: THIS WAS IN WEST LONDON? AH: YEAH, WESTBOURNE GROVE. IT’S SUCH A PRETTY LITTLE PLACE. I NOTICED THE GUY FOLLOWING ME A FEW TIMES BEFORE WHEN I WAS WALKING IN THE STREET. HE WAS SHOUTING BAD STUFF & SPLITTING AT ME. I CALLED THE POLICE, BUT THEY SAID IF HE DOES ANYTHING WORSE CALL 999.

GREAT, NO? THEN A FEW DAYS LATER, I WAS ALONE, THE GUY FOLLOWED ME, CHASED ME DOWN & KICKED ME IN THE FACE. AFTER THAT, YOU KNOW, AN AMBULANCE CAME, TOOK ME TO THE HOSPITAL & I REPORTED THE GUY TO THE POLICE AGAIN. NOW I NEED TO WAIT FOUR MORE WEEKS TO KNOW IF THEY’RE GOING TO CHARGE HIM, YES OR NO.

BN: SO THEY DID FIND THE GUY? AH: YEAH, EVENTUALLY. BUT NOW THEY SAY THEY NEED TO ESTABLISH IF HE’S A REAL THREAT OR NOT. I TOLD THEM TO COME ON, THE GUY ATTACKED ME IN BROAD DAY LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. HE EVEN SAID “NEXT TIME I’M GOING TO KILL YOU”. YOU KNOW, I’D LOVE JUST ONCE IN MY LIFETIME TO WALK IN THE STREET, SMILE AT THE PEOPLE & FOR THEM TO SIMPLY SMILE BACK.

BN: I HEARD YOU BOUGHT YOUR HEAD X-RAY FROM THE HOSPITAL? AN: YEAH. I’M GONNA PUT THEM IN AN INSTALLATION. I COULD DEDICATE IT TO THAT GUY. IT WOULD BE TITLED “TO THE LITTLE MAN THAT BEAT ME, WITH LOVE SIGNED ANGEL HOPE.

SOMETIMES I THINK IE WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER FOR THE POLICE IF THE GUY HAD STABBED ME OR SOMETHING.

BN: I’M DISAPPOINTED TO HEAR ALL THIS. HAVE YOU STARTED THE PIECE? AH: YEAH, I’M ABOUT TO TRANSCRIBE THE PHONE CA;; I JUST HAD WITH THE POLICE OFFICER I SPOKE TO & USE THAT IN THERE TO.

BN: WOW, I LOVE HOW YOU’RE TURNING IT ALL INTO SOMETHING STRAIGHT AWAY! AH: WHAT ELSE AM I GONNA DO? IT’S REAL LIFE. THERE’S MORE DRAMA IN REAL LIFE THAN THERE IS ON THE STAGE.

VICE

BK’s IT GRRL

COMMUNITY ORGANIZER & NIGHTLIGHT HOT GRRL, VICE IS WORKING THE SCENCE AND LIVING THE DREAM. FROM BEING ON BROADWAY, TO WALKING, TO SELLING OUT A 150 PAGE MAGAZINE, TO HEADLINING RAVES, THEY HAVE WHAT IT TAKES & THEY FIND IT WITHIN. WE HAD THE HONOR OF CHILLING AT THE CLUB WITH THIS BABE. SHE MELTED OUR HEARTS. & WAIT TILL YOU SEE HER DANCE.

1. … Are you trying to say something ?

When you tell someone you are non-binary, they normally expect you to live in one part of that binary. There are a lot of people who are so free form and so free fluid and I’ve lived a lot parts of my life like super femmed out. I lived 6 months almost as a woman during the pandemic and I don't know it kinda puts things into perspective. I think that is why most of my friends aren't gay cis men, just queer people, queer expression. Because I don't need the label I just need the safety net. And sometimes I feel safer femme and sometimes feel safe masc. But it's nice when I have say in that. When I was an actor I couldn’t do any of that shit . When I was a model I couldn't get no tattoos…

2. Can you tell me about your magazine cus it’s really cool?

Its funny because ICE VICE MAGAZINE was something I made when I was acting and modeling and I was at an Agency and wasn’t getting work. And I was like I know my work is good, I know my friend's work is good but we are all brown, trans or queer and I was like we should have a platform. And in high school I made a joke that if I don’t get booked I’m going to make my own magazine, ICE VICE MAGAZINE & this kid started bullying me so I really made it and by the time I was 18 which is my second online issue I had received a lot of attention. I had a tumblr documentary featured with me on it. I started getting alot of queer, trans people in New York City their first modeling gig because they needed credit, they needed a resume. And then during the pandemic I was a part of the Black Trans sector of the Black Lives Matter movement  led by Qween Jean and the Stonewall Liberation group, Cayenne and all those girls….And I started crowd sourcing for a magazine that was based on abolitionist that were working in the protesting but also working in the rave nightlife scene raising money for gender affirming surgery, & queer housing, black housing. And then I made my first printed magazine called VICE VERSA, that was the issue. It was my fifth issue. I sold over 400 copies.

I sold 400 copies. I was going to the protests, selling my magazine, reprinting them and selling them. Then one day I was in Washington Square Park, I use to pull up there and sell them in the street, this white man walks up to me in a suit , And I always tell this story, and he's like oh i want to buy your magazine And I’m like its the last one and your white and your obviously like cis so you're going to have to pay more. He was like how much you want for it and I was like $100. And he gave it to me and I gave it to him. And it was Mel Ottenberg from INTERVIEW MAGAZINE.

Now I’m 24 and I’m making my new Magazine issue and its still exclusively highlighting queer and trans people of color New Yorkers. Not because we are marginalized but because our culture is of essence and we need to document it from the source. So that is what ICE VICE MAGAZINE is, it's named after me but it's really the extension of mi estilo, which is unapologetically queer and beauty and stuff.

3. What are your guilty pleasures?

My 2nd vice is bisexual boys. We gotta throw them out. I’m being dead serious. My therapist put me on this. NO MORE BI SEXUAL MEN 2024. I’ve relapsed twice. There needs to be a BISEXUAL A MEETING. A BISEXUAL MEN ANONYMOUS  for survivors, those people going thru withdrawals and the shakes. Its real.

4. What kind of music do you listen to?

I’ve always been such a music fiend and Ive never put it together til now . I mean I grew up with old school New York hip hop so like BIGGIE, and my mom loved DMX and all of those legends. My music is a little bit old school. I love old school jazz. Not old school but the greats. I like the Ela Fitzgeralds,  the Louise Armstrongs, even Amy Winehouse, the first jazz hip hop album, but FRANK, Frank is my favorite album. I actually, contrary to what I dj which is a lot of hardcore, industrial, gabber or techno, I actually listen to a lot of RNB alot of JAZZ, Solange is up there.

5. What did you listen to today?

I listened to Gotta Know You Now by Amy Winehouse 0ff the FRANK Album as I rolled my blunt with my dog. I was Watching the Sunrise cuz I got off at 9am. It just gets me calm. I can listen to Amy every single day. But when I’m walking in the streets, if you see me in the streets and I’m pumping I swear to god it's 180 BPM minimum music. Like runway pumping .I will pump you.

6. Who inspires you now?

It's gonna sound weird but for the longest time so many people inspired me, Everyone that inspires me is people that I photograph. Let me just start off by saying that, I only photograph people that inspire me. Not that I'm inspired by their beauty but there is genuinely something in them that makes me wanna still stay in my home that I find beautiful and I wanna uplift it. But lately most of the inspiration has been coming from when I was lacking as a kid. And I always keep thinking about if I was back in time, what would I need, what art would I need at that age to help me develop quicker. I’ve really been digging into that lately. Like I’m a weirdo. I like weird shit. I like spooky stuff, and weird makeup and ripped clothes and I used to think that was so detrimental growing up in a Catholic house. I realized that if I had more artist supporting my vision I wouldn’t have felt so isolated and I could have done a lot more cus i’m young. But age is not a limit. So I think I’ve been looking at myself for inspiration cuz being brown, trans and non-binary youre the source. And we don’t tell ourselves that. Like if you look at any type of art like hip hop, techno, house - its all made by black people and most of the time is made by black trans people, why are we not reaching in ourselves to be inspired by ourselves. So that’s what I've been trying to do is be more inspired by myself, genuinely.

7.  I feel like your’re conquering so much right now .You’ve already been on Broadway, you've walked, you have your own magazine, you are working in Community, what's next where do you see yourself in 5 years, what do you wanna do that’s out of your normal realm right now?

Well I’m going to make a movie. That’s that goal. Everything was to go back to film, tv and theater development. As a child in the hood, that was all I had. It was free. It was accessible. I wanna make accessible art in the form of performances, movies, film, tv shows but I was using fashion as a catalyst to conquer the visual aspects. I already did the work as an actor. I’m doing the work now as a producer and curator. All that formulates into my movie and all that was really the grand scheme. And In 5 years I see myself collecting my 9th Golden Globe but like I can't even think about that yet because I like to genuinely conquer each month. Bitch, I just  survived a global plague. I turned 21 during the pandemic and I realized life is so short and can be taken like that. I had no money. I was eating grilled cheeses off the street. I was doing like cam work and club work, and abolitionist work, and magazine work and I just didnt want my life to be like that no more so i thought fuck it.  Even if it kills me I’m going to conquer each day, conquer each day. And 3 years later, I’ve done everything that I thought would take me 5 years. So I can’t plan for 5 years cuz I might do it in a month.

8. You are doing so much. What's the secret? So many people your age are paralyzed by the world. Do you have any words for them?

Experience that isolation and learn that you don't want to live there and move past it. The think people are stuck right now. Queeer and trans people are stuck by nature cuz they put us in a stuck place. So that’s why we are so great because we have to overwork that. Most people are stuck right now realize that didn't have anything driving them cuz they were living their lives. Especially  Westerners ,as Americans and have all  been lied to everything is so constude that we have to really think independently and we kinda have a freedom to do that most countries don't. You have to find inspiration in yourself. I spent so much of my life depressed when I was younger I had so many like self harm issues because I was never taught I could solve my own problems. You have to. If you're lonely sit in that loneliness and feel it. Til you realize that it's not a feeling I want no more. And go find community. And if you can't find it. Make it . But you cant sit there forever because no one is going to pull you out. No one gave me my Broadway gig, no one made my magazine for me, no one sold that shit for me, no one put a USB in my hand. I took it. You have to go and take it. And as Brown and Black and Queer and Trans people we deserve that. It's our equity.

BB GRRL

COMMUNITY ORGANIZER MAXWELL VICE takes us there at one of their places of employment, NOWADAYS, BK. NYC

So this is the advice I’m gonna give the people in my Agency but specifically to trans talent. Cuz most of the time what I did for Willy And Luar was like hey I know all  these trans people see them walk. When you walk into a room you don't have to tell anybody about yourself, your past or anything. You present what you bring them. So if you’re a femme queen, give me the femme queen. If you're a Butch Queen, pull up Butch. You don't owe no one the diversity hire. You know what I mean. This is 2024. You're not a pride campaign.Trans people are worth money. Black people are worth money. Trans masc is as important as trans femme. NonBinary is just the same. These are your tools. Don't let people defer you from that. They need you more. Because you’re the token. You’re the golden token. But don’t let them tokenize you, cuz you're worth Gold. You know what I mean. So when you walk into those spaces take it up, tell them what you want, tell them what you need to. Give them your name, no id. Tell them to respect your boundaries. And feel free to walk off sets. I've walked off sets because they didn't respect my pronouns. I've walked off sets because they didn't do my hair right as a brown person.. You have a right to protect your body and identity, please do so.

DIE 4 U

PRINCESS DONNA INVITED US OVER TO CHILL IN HER HOTTUB (W HOLLYWOOD SIGN VIEWS) LATE ONE SULTRY EVENING IN AUGUST….

 we sTAYED ALL NIGHT

“I throw sex parties, queer sex parties and creating the language around consent was something I spent a really long time on.”

IS THERE ANY SEXUAL FANTASIES THAT U HAVEN’T TRIED YET?

“Something I have been constantly impressed by is how sexuality evolves and how there is always something that I’ve never tried before. It’s almost hilarious.

Well this is not a sexual fantasy that I haven’t tried yet but it’s an example of something that I hadn’t done exactly before and it was amazing and I am planning on doing more. So I shot a scene with me and two bisexual dudes it was amazing because one was fucking me and the other one is getting mouth fucked by the other. It was just really cool to have anyone participating.

You know I’ve  been pushing for the world to be more Queer. And when I say that I truly mean less segregated within the Queer Community. There is a lot of misogyny in the world and there can be a lot in gay culture as well. There are a lot of places where dudes don’t want me to be present because I am a woman and I’m like well this is going to be fun.”

“The message I was hoping to spread with porn was to more than just to  BDSM people. My goal was to help create , In my ideal, a world without shame. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to change the whole world but I thought that by putting myself out there, exploring sexuality, which was something that historically I have been ashamed of or nervous or something I should hide, I wanted to show other people it was ok.”

HOW IMPORTANT IS SEX

IN YOUR PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS?

“It is important. In my experience in long term relationships there can be a downslope in intimacy and sex but it doesn’t always last . It doesn’t have to be a downward slope and then you’re done.  There can be an ebb and flow, more sex one time less sex at other times, but I feel that when the sex stops it can create a rift. It is an important tool for building intimacy and feeling close to the person you are with.

I feel that being open or poly is helpful to maintaining sex in a primary relationships or all of your relationships. Everything in life is perspective. Sometimes getting a little shift in perspective or having sex with someone else and they do something slightly different and you learn something new and you want to come back try it with your partner. I think it can just keep excitement going. It can also cause drama but relationships are drama no matter what..”

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND PRINCESS DONNA THE CHARACTER?

“Yes. I feel that Princess Donna is definitely me but her presentation focuses on certain aspects of me but doesn’t necessary hold all the multitudes of what it means to be a person not a character. There was a time I would have said just yes Im Princess Donna, Princess Donna is me. But what I think has changed that for me is other people’s reading of me. Because they get to know Princess Donna and then assume they know me. And ya know, that was just a film.

It’s the outside world that turned Princess Donna into a character. Their reception of me, of Princess Donna. People are shocked when they find out I’m nice and dorky and shy.  There are things captured on film that are part of my personality.  But yes there was a time when I would have said they were the same person because Princess Donna is pretty heavily based on me and my interest. A lot of the things I did on Public Disgrace or my new Public Humiliation sites were things I was doing in real like just for fun.”

WHEN YOU ARE IN THE  DOMINATE BDSM ROLE ARE YOU EVER SUBMISSIVE?

“Im willing to and open to dominating in different ways, taking control of the situation through tenderness. I’m willing to play with it but generally I’m either dominate or submissive. That’s not to say within the same night I couldn’t switch between. With people in my personal life, I will Dom them and they will Dom me because we are both switches. Its hot. And I love it.

For me it’s kinda been hard to find people that I truly enjoy having sex with. Ya know because not every one knows what they are doing. I wish people would read more books.  I like to say I’m not a sex nerd but I totally am. In college, I read every book, like about how to go down on a girl and all the fingering techniques. And everything about the butt, like how to fuck the butt hole, all of the books around technique for having sex.  I think people can benefit from that.

The most important thing or the thing that always needs to be front and center is paying attention to the person you are with, to their Body language, sounds, like trying to actually connect with their body and see what it feels like. Not like I read a book and now I’m gonna do it even tho you’re wincing in pain.

I would love to educate.”

SINCE YOU’VE ALREADY DONE SO MUCH IN THIS WORLD OF SEX, INCLUDING BEHIND THE CAMERA AND DIRECTING, IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO DO?

“I recently started producing content again. It’s been difficult because I don’t have the budget to produce the work that I love to do. But it’s very gratifying in the sense that I’m do it myself.

I have some ideas I want to share with you but…

I can’t say it on camera.”
